Tin Can Lids
Aug 30th

I really love these tin can lids. Take something everyone views as trash and make it useful and nice to look at.
The Blackberry OLED Key Concept
Feb 4th

“For all its failures, the Blackberry Storm’s clickable screen was an innovation ahead of its time. Roundly criticized for inhibiting typing speed by adding the need to depress the screen-button before clicking it again, it dared to add a whole other layer of tactile communication to what was originally just a visual display. Reversing this fundamental concept and throwing in a dash of technological whimsy, I present the first MozPhone Throw-away Concept: OLED Blackberry.”

Capacity worked on the Cartoon Network rebrand. They have a Kid Robot character that can be skinned to its environment. Really unique, really cool. Thanks to Oliver for pointing it out.
Neave.com – Personal Playground
Jun 25th

Paul Neave is a 28 year old flash artist from Great Britain. Paul has made a pretty fun personal page filled with flash fun. There are great games and fractals to play with. One of the stranger sections is the Television section. You can flip through clips of old film, over dubbed kids shows and vintage cartoons. Flash earth is neat as well. You can zoom in on the earth using high res images from Nasa or other sources. Check it out.
Music in a Bottle
May 20th

Bit, a German beverage company has an interesting website. Music in a bottle allows customers to discover new artists after they have purchased their drink. Much like Delicious library a webcam becomes a barcode scanner. Simply hold your bottle up to the camera, let them scan and the music starts playing. Somewhat of a gimmick but I can see plenty more promotions of this sort coming. Maybe I can buy products from Amazon by scanning an empty bottle?
Toshiba’s ApriPoko: a Remote Controller Companion Robot
Mar 26th

Toshiba has been working on this little guy since 2006. He (it) can recognize your face and follow voice commands. He (it) can’t fight off intruders with lasers but he can change the channel on your tv. I don’t think the feature set is really useful but if this is what robots are going to look like sign me up.
