Neave.com – Personal Playground
Jun 25th

Paul Neave is a 28 year old flash artist from Great Britain. Paul has made a pretty fun personal page filled with flash fun. There are great games and fractals to play with. One of the stranger sections is the Television section. You can flip through clips of old film, over dubbed kids shows and vintage cartoons. Flash earth is neat as well. You can zoom in on the earth using high res images from Nasa or other sources. Check it out.
Recycling Compact Fluorescent Bulbs – Home Depot
Jun 25th

Starting next Tuesday Home Depot will start taking Compact Fluorescents back for recycling. The bulbs are a no brainer when it comes to energy savings and how long they last. They do however contain trace amounts of mercury. I’m sure other large chains will follow in Home Depots foot steps.
Soft City Lights

WOXY.com presents: Okkervil River from Soft City Lights on Vimeo.
“Soft City Lights is an experimental video project that was conceived in September of 2007 with the goal of creating online HD short films profiling Cincinnati based artists, happenings and well, whatever I feel. It’s since also become an outlet for documenting lounge acts for online radio station woxy.com.”
I have watched a few of these videos before. They are pretty well done and a good way of seeing local Cincinnati music.
Google Maps Street View hits Cincinnati
Jun 17th
Google’s street view rovers must have captured Cincinnati when I wasn’t looking. I found my house and lucky for me I’m not outside.
SF Wrap-up
Jun 13th

This was my first trip to WWDC and my first trip to San Francisco. The city is really cool. The weather is amazing and if you avoid the tourist places you can have a great time. I spent lots of time just walking around downtown. There are plenty of interesting things that you can stumble upon. I stayed in a poor part of town but I think this worked out ok. I think I saw more of the real San Francisco. The city has a lot of homeless.
WWDC was amazing. It is totally different to hear the software creators explaining how their software should be used. Apple’s vision seems so far into the future. You can see that everything they have been doing in the last few years has been counting on coming technologies. It really sounds like multi core processing is going to keep growing and becoming more efficient.
The bash was surreal. They kicked everyone out of the park and gated it off. Five thousand apple dapples swarm in for hand rolled sushi and wine. After Phil gave a quick speech the Bare Naked Ladies preformed. They laid the apple drops on pretty thick. I guess that is what they are getting paid for.
WWDC 08
Jun 9th

Apple’s World Wide Developers Conference is in San Francisco on Monday (today). I’m here and getting excited. There are many guesses about what Steve Jobs will announce at the Keynote. Topping the rumors is a new iPhone with 3G, GPS and a larger storage capacity.
Twitter is expecting 10 times their normal traffic tomorrow. They have been having reliability issues in the past few weeks. This may be a proving point for them.
I’m going to try to send updates. If twitter is up you can follow at
